Streetscape Referendum

North entry way sketch

At the March 13, 2018 Municipal Election, Highland Beach voters will be asked to approve a Streetscape Improvement Project at a not-to-exceed cost of $2,100,000.00. The project which would be paid for using existing Town reserves is expected to include the following basic components:

Replacement of the asphalt walk path with a decorative aggregate (shell) concrete walk path.

Upgrade monument signage at the north and south entry points of the Town.

Upgraded street signage (signs, signposts, and street name signs).

Relocation of trash receptacles.

ADA Standards at side street crosswalks.

Upgrade landscaping at focal points along the pathway.

The Town Commission does not anticipate having to raise taxes for this project because their plan is to self-fund the project with existing reserve funds and replenish those funds over the next 10 years with the Palm Beach County Infrastructure Surtax Proceeds. The Town is working on artistic renderings that will be displayed at Town Hall and at various Town events to illustrate the project.  If you have any questions regarding this project, please do not hesitate to contact Town Hall at 561-278-4548.
