Waste Management "Recycle Right" Tips of the Week
Leftovers? Leave them out!Any way you slice it, there is often some food left over that no one wants. Never put food or beverages in recycling bins! You CAN make a difference! When you look closely at recycling, you find that the aluminum can you recycle today can be back on the shelf in 90 days and ready for summer picnics! Keep on trucking! You can make trucks out of cardboard or recycled cardboard to keep the real trucks bringing new supplies. Nearly 80% of all retailers and grocers recycle their cardboard. Be a cool cat!Steel food cans (like cat food cans) are the most recycled food package. Keep on recycling them! Rock, paper, scissors, recycle!Which paper products are recycled the most? Toilet paper and paper towel rolls, newspapers, junk mail, office/school paper, paperboard (cereal and cracker boxes) and cardboard. Keep it clean, leave out the cleaning supplies!Technically it is still winter, so you can skip spring cleaning this weekend! Never place plastic, latex, or cloth disposable gloves or disinfectant wipes and dust cloths in recycling bins. Don't forget the boxes!Cardboard boxes without inside packing materials can be recycled along with paperboard, such as cereal and cracker boxes.
