FDOT SR-A1A Project Update

Dear Highland Beach Residents,

After the heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours, it is evident that severe drainage issues continue to impact the right of way along SR-A1A throughout Highland Beach. The Town understands and shares our residents’ frustrations. We continue to press FDOT to deliver on the commitments they made during the design phase and public input meetings.

While FDOT maintains that patience is required and that the final project will result in improved drainage, Town leadership remains concerned that their assessment may overstate the impact of the remaining work.

Please rest assured that the Town is diligently and proactively engaging FDOT to ensure that the interests of Highland Beach remain at the forefront of their work. We will continue to advocate strongly on behalf of our residents until these drainage issues are properly resolved.
