Recycling in Highland Beach Makes a Difference
The Solid Waste Authority reports that Highland Beach has recycled 93.6 tons of material during the fourth quarter of 2025.
To date in 2025, we have collected a total of 929.42 tons of garbage and a total of 318.44 tons of recycling, for a combined residential waste and recycling total of 1,247.86 tons.
This results in a waste-to-recycling ratio of approximately 2.9 to 1. As expected with our seasonal population, both waste and recycling collection volumes decrease during the Spring and Summer months.
Although there is no revenue share for participating municipalities this quarter—due to processing costs exceeding revenues—we sincerely thank our residents for their continued commitment to responsible recycling.
