Town Commission Meeting — Clarification and Notice of Participation

Please accept this as notice that there will be Town Commission meeting held on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at 1:30 PM. The public is encouraged to watch and participate in the meeting using the information provided below.

As a point of clarification, there is not a $1,000,000 project under consideration for approval. Agenda Item 12B is the consideration to approve the Bid Award and authorize the Mayor to execute a Contract for services with Hinderland Group Inc. for Underground Contractor Services on an as-needed basis (Invitation to Bid No. 20-003). The Town’s Engineer placed random bid quantities in the RFP in order to determine the low bidder. There is currently no project and the bid is for as-needed services for emergency utility repairs.  To download a copy of the agenda with supporting documents, click here.

MEETING NOTICE PARTICIPATION

Based upon guidance issued by the President of the United States, by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Executive Orders issued by the Governor of the State of Florida, and the Stay Safe, Stay Home Executive Order issued by Highland Beach Town Manager, the Regular Town Commission meeting of the Town of Highland Beach shall be limited to no more than 10 persons with social distancing.

Based on these restrictions, this meeting will be conducted utilizing teleconference communications. In accordance with the State of Florida Executive Order No. 20-69 dated March 20, 2020, this meeting will be solely available via live streaming and broadcasting on Highland Beach TV – Channel 99 and made available on Town’s YouTube webpage immediately following the meeting. PLACE: The meeting will be held at Town Hall, 3614 South Ocean Blvd., Highland Beach, FL. However, due to COVID-19 social distancing requirements and the stay safe, stay home requirements, the public will not be allowed to be present.

PUBLIC COMMENTS: Public comments will be accepted via email and will be read aloud during the corresponding item(s) of the meeting. The Town of Highland Beach will provide for public participation by emailing public comments, a communication media technology (electronic transmission) or by contacting the Clerk’s Office at 561-278-4548. If an interested person desires to provide public comment, all comments must be directed to Lanelda Gaskins, Town Clerk as follows:

• Contact the Town Clerk’s Office staff at 561-278-4548.
• The Town will receive such public comments no later than 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, prior to the meeting. If timely received by the Town Administration, the Mayor or Town Staff will read the public comment at the meeting
