FDOT SR-A1A Project Update

Home Posted on August 26, 2025

Dear Highland Beach Residents,

Many of you have reached out regarding the flooding that occurred along A1A this past weekend. We share your concerns and have been in direct contact with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). I will be meeting with FDOT engineers to discuss why flooding appears worse than before construction and to determine what corrective actions will be taken. While FDOT has indicated that drainage will improve once the project is completed, our staff and I are not fully satisfied with that explanation and are pressing for clear answers. We are also closely monitoring the September 17th project completion date, as any delay could affect the start of our sanitary sewer lining project. Please know that we are actively engaged with FDOT and we will continue to keep you informed as new information becomes available.

To express any comments or concerns directly to FDOT, please contact Community Outreach Specialist Melissa Readling at 772-577-8803 or mreadling@corradino.com.

Respectfully,

Marshall Labadie

Town Manager
